Tools to Navigate PBL

To help teachers navigate how to bring project-based learning (PBL) to the classroom, PBLWorks is introducing a new e-book and updating its introductory workshop.  The e-book entitled "Your Project Based Learning Journey: A Guide for Teachers" provides educators with a five-step process to determine how the teaching strategy can work in their classrooms.

The five-action steps are:

  • Stage 1: Discover the what & why of PBL
  • Stage 2: Learnn how to design and implement PBL
  • Stage 3: Implement your project in the classroom
  • Stage 4: Reflect on lessons learned and plan next steps
  • Stage 5: Share & Lead to help others on their PBL Journey

The PBL 101 Workshop has been enhanced to provide instructors with more information on how to tie PBL to learning outcomes, give greater clarity on assessments, make suggestions on the project design process and give instructors assess to MyPBLWorks online learning platform for a full year.

"Our goal has always been to help teachers get up and running with PBL, as quickly and as confidently as possible," said PBLWorks CEO Bob Lenz. "The PBL101 Workshop is a key element in a longer journey toward helping students achieve critical academic and 21st Century Skills."
