A collaboration of ed tech providers led by nonprofit 1EdTech Consortium has resulted in an updated open standard for interoperability that allows K–12 school districts to automatically combine assessment results and grades from districts’ various platforms and tools, enabling teachers and administrators to see all their students’ results data in one place.
A review of data from more than 225,000 female middle and high school students has revealed a major gap between the aptitude of girls for STEM and their interest in pursuing STEM careers. It also found their interest exceeds aptitude in some non-STEM disciplines.

Less than a year after introducing its Reading Coach and Reading Progress tools for education users, Microsoft today introduced an entire suite of similar tools called Learning Accelerators that focus on digital literacy, speaking and presentation skills, and math, each with a “Coach” tool for students and a “Progress” monitoring and assigning tool for teachers.
Microsoft Education is gearing up to introduce new learning tools and share more details about recently launched tools during a virtual event for educators and education leaders on Thursday, Feb. 9, the company said.

The LGBT-focused nonprofit It Gets Better Project has opened its grant program that will award $10,000 grants to 50 schools in the United States, as well as additional grants to schools in Canada, to help support LGBT youth. The deadline is March 15.
The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents is set to hold its virtual National Career Fair for the third consecutive year on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023 from noon to 5 p.m. EST, the nonprofit said in a news release.
